The presence of PT Rekayasa Industri (Rekind) and all its subsidiaries in the community is not solely focused on business operations. Beyond that, Rekind strives to be part of the surrounding environment, making a positive impact, and ensuring that all company activities run safely, comfortably and bring value to the community.
This commitment was reiterated by Rekind’s Senior Vice President of Corporate Secretary, Budi Adi Nugroho, during the opening of the Neighborhood Satisfaction Survey (SKL) held with residents of Neighborhood Association (RW) 08, Kalibata Village, Pancoran, South Jakarta, on Thursday (November 20).
He explained that the survey fosters open dialogue between the company and the community, which has long been a close partner in Rekind’s activities. “Through this survey, we aim to understand the community’s satisfaction with Rekind—from our daily interactions and the company’s contributions to the environment, to how our activities are perceived,” said Budi Adi Nugroho, speaking on behalf of the Rekind Group.
The event, held at the ROB II Building Rekind Headquarters Complex, was attended by Kalibata Village Head Herman SAP, RW 08 Head Marjuki Ali, representatives from the Muspika (Sub-District Leadership Coordination Forum), community leaders, and 150 RW 08 residents. The residents’ enthusiasm demonstrated the need for such a participatory space to bridge healthy two-way communication.
For Rekind and its subsidiaries, the community’s voice reflects the extent to which the company has benefited the community. Through the SKL, the company hopes to identify aspects that have performed well and identify areas for improvement. “Every input from the community is an opportunity for us to grow and improve,” continued Budi Adi Nugroho.
He emphasized that the results of this survey will form the basis for developing the company’s follow-up plan. “We want every step we take to be not only internal in nature, but also reflect the aspirations of the community that lives alongside us,” he added.
Herman Susatyo, VP of Community and Environmental Health (TJSL), added that this year’s SKL implementation felt more strategic because it involved PT Pupuk Indonesia Niaga, which also conducted a similar survey in neighborhood association (RW) 08. In addition to gathering residents’ aspirations, the two companies donated carpets to the Al Hijrah Mosque and the Nur Shafiudin Mosque as a form of direct support to local religious facilities.
The survey was conducted through direct questionnaires filled out by selected residents. This method allowed the community to express their opinions honestly, objectively, and without manipulation, ensuring their voices were truly heard and actionable.
Kalibata Village Head, Herman SAP, expressed his appreciation for this initiative. He assessed that Rekind and its subsidiaries have established a strong relationship with the community, including through various community programs supported by the company.
Going forward, Herman hopes this synergy can be directed toward supporting village programs to reduce the practice of open defecation (BABS). He said this effort requires a comprehensive approach through behavioral change, the provision of sanitation infrastructure, and the active involvement of the government and community.
