Rekind Holds Simultaneous Mustering Drill Simulation at Head Office

The calm atmosphere at the PT Rekayasa Industri (Rekind) Head Office Complex suddenly changed when an emergency alarm sounded, shattering the silence of several buildings that morning. Instantly, hundreds of employees rushed from their desks. Their expressions turned serious, their steps quickened, and they followed the designated evacuation route.

The sound of the alarm signals an emergency situation such as an earthquake or fire. Several officers from the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Team swiftly directed the evacuation route, ensuring that all employees remained calm and orderly toward the assembly point. Within minutes, the entire area was sterile, and participants gathered according to established procedures.

This rapid response action was part of the Mustering Drill Simulation held simultaneously by Rekind, involving all subsidiaries, cooperatives, and several subsidiaries of PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero), on Friday (November 14th).

This activity serves as a routine company evaluation to improve the preparedness and resilience of all Rekind employees in the face of emergency situations. This effort also demonstrates the state-owned EPC (Engineering, Procurement, & Construction) Industrial Process company’s ongoing commitment to enhancing its K3L (Health and Safety) awareness and ensuring the safety of all employees working within the company premises. This ensures that all evacuation procedures in the event of an emergency are well-understood.

“This exercise is not just an annual routine, but an important part of our commitment to maintaining the safety and security of all employees and visitors to this building. We all hope that emergencies never occur, but preparedness is key to enabling us all to act quickly, appropriately, and calmly if an unforeseen situation does arise,” emphasized Yusairi, Director of Operations and Technology/Development at Rekind.

Yusairi, who participated in the simulation along with several officials from Rekind and its subsidiaries, also appreciated the discipline and cooperation demonstrated by all participants. “Today we learned that safety is a shared responsibility, not just the responsibility of the floor warden, HSE, security, or management, but also of every individual working in this environment,” he added reassuringly.

According to Rekind’s Vice President (VP) of HSE, Hendi Hidayat, this activity will be carried out continuously. Its implementation does not stop at formal activities, but continues to be directed to become part of the daily work culture of the Rekind Group, starting from simple things such as recognizing evacuation routes, maintaining fire extinguishers so that they remain functional, to reminding each other if there is a potential danger around us. “Once again, thank you for the participation and enthusiasm of all parties. Let’s continue this commitment, safety first, always,” added Hendi.
