Rekind Celebrates 44 Years Synergy of Caring Through Blood Donations and Love for the Environment

As it celebrates its 44th anniversary, PT Rekayasa Industri (Rekind) demonstrated a different approach to its anniversary celebration. With a simple yet meaningful event, this state-owned EPC Industrial Process company reaffirmed its commitment to social awareness and environmental preservation.

Despite its modest nature, Rekind’s commitment to health, humanity, and environmental preservation remains strong. This spirit was demonstrated through a blood drive and health checkup held at Rekind’s Head Office in South Jakarta on Wednesday (August 7th).

This activity was a synergistic collaboration between the Department of Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL), the Rekind K3LH Department, PT Pupuk Indonesia Niaga, and Rekind’s subsidiaries. Also participating in the event were the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Jakarta branch and medical personnel from the Pancoran Community Health Center.

Enthusiasm was evident at the blood drive, with a total of 217 registered participants. These participants included the Directors of Rekind and its subsidiaries. Of these, 167 people successfully qualified as donors, while 50 others were unable to donate due to health reasons. However, this activity didn’t stop at just blood donation. Rekind also provided general health checks, mental health screenings, blood sugar tests, HIV detection, TB screening through sputum tests, and cervical cancer screening through VIA and HPV DNA tests. This comprehensive approach reflected the company’s commitment to maintaining and improving the quality of employee health holistically.

What made this activity even more special was that each donor was given a fruit tree seedling, including a mango, water apple, avocado, and lime. This symbolized that the good deeds planted today will one day grow into a blessing for many.

“This is a concrete step towards building preventive awareness and strengthening a healthy lifestyle within the workplace, with employees, and the surrounding community,” said Rekind’s Director of Finance and Human Resources, Dedy Rinaldi, in his remarks representing Rekind’s President Director, Triyani Utamingsih.

Furthermore, Dedy expressed his pride in the donors and screening participants. “The drop of blood donated by employees may seem simple, but it can be very meaningful to those in need. Meanwhile, the health screening conducted is a manifestation of love for oneself and one’s family,” he emphasized convincingly.

Rekind’s VP of Social and Environmental Health, Herman Susatyo, added that this activity is part of the company’s sustainability strategy to build empathy and social responsibility. “We want to encourage all Rekind employees to continue caring for their personal and social health, as well as the environment in which we operate,” he said.

The distribution of tree seedlings to participants was not just a souvenir, but a concrete invitation to employees to consistently preserve the environment wherever they are. “The blood we donate today saves lives. The trees we plant will save the future,” he said.
