PT Rekayasa Industri (Rekind), Wednesday (13/12) implemented the last Occupational Safety and Health (P2K3) Advisory Committee Meeting in 2023. Apart from being a form of compliance with government regulations, this activity is also a form of implementation by the nation’s EPC company in maintaining and continue to increase awareness of aspects of safety, occupational health and environmental protection.

Led directly by Yusairi, Director of Operations and Technology/Development at Rekind, attended by SVPs, VPs and Managers, including the project team who joined online.

This activity began with a presentation regarding Safety Moment. Delivered directly by Luh Karina, VP Process Engineering Rekind, who shared insights about Process Safety. Then it was continued with a presentation activity regarding the SMK3 Audit by the team from Sucofindo.

For Rekind, P2K3 activities are very important in supporting company activities. Moreover, Rekind is an EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) company, where HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) is a mandatory that must be fulfilled in all aspects of its operations, both at the Head Office (HO) and Rekind projects. Apart from that, the activities of the K3 Advisory Committee (P2K3) are also a program that must be followed, with instructions directly from the government.

P2K3 is an internal institution in a company that is responsible for supervising and implementing occupational safety and health (K3) programs in the work environment. The main goal is to protect employees and prevent work accidents and work-related diseases in the workplace.

The implementation of P2K3 in companies is regulated by various regulations and laws related to occupational safety and health. In Indonesia, P2K3 regulations are regulated in Minister of Manpower Regulation No. 3 of 1998 concerning the Establishment of the Occupational Safety and Health Advisory Committee. This regulation regulates the formation of P2K3, its organizational structure, duties and responsibilities.

Apart from that, Law Number 1 of 1970 concerning Work Safety is also an important legal basis for implementing P2K3. These regulations and laws aim to provide protection and security for workers in carrying out their duties and work.

Implementing P2K3 brings many benefits to companies. Some of the benefits include reducing the risk of work accidents, increasing productivity, complying with regulations and laws and improving the company’s reputation. Companies that care about the work safety and health of their employees will have a good reputation in the eyes of the public. This can improve a company’s image and make it more attractive to potential employees and business partners.
