Rekind Promotes Ergonomic Work Positions

PT Rekayasa Industri (Rekind) continues to prioritize the implementation of a safe and healthy work culture across all its operational lines, as part of its company standards. This effort also underscores Rekind’s dedication to supporting the National Occupational Health and Safety Program, a government priority, to ensure every activity is safe, productive, and sustainable. One way to achieve this is by providing education on the importance of ergonomic work positions. This program is designed to equip Rekindists with a practical understanding of how to position their bodies according to their natural shape and capabilities while working. The goal is to create comfort, reduce fatigue, and prevent injury.

In daily routines, from sitting in front of a computer to standing for long periods and lifting objects, the body is often forced into less-than-ideal positions. If left untreated, this condition can lead to back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, and wrist disorders. Therefore, implementing ergonomic principles is key to maintaining health while sustainably increasing work productivity.

The event, held at the Rekind Headquarters Complex in East Kalibata, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (February 10th), featured Dr. Beno Putra, Sp.KFR, a specialist in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation from Restu Kasih Hospital, Jakarta. He explained simple yet effective practices, such as keeping your back straight and leaning back, feet flat on the floor, and knees aligned with your hips. It is recommended that the computer screen be at eye level, elbows at a 90-degree angle when typing, and wrists kept straight.

Employees were also reminded to take regular breaks and do light stretching every 30-60 minutes to reduce muscle tension and improve blood circulation. Through this understanding, the company hopes that all Rekindists can work more comfortably, safely, and efficiently.
