Taking Over Certificate of Lahendong-2 Project to PT PLN (Persero)

Thanks to God Almighty, as result of hard work of all the project team in project site and home office, Lahendong-2 Geothermal Power Plant Project has successfully completed reliability test run in mid of June 2007 and has been handed over to PT PLN by the issuance of Taking Over Certificate on 19th of June 2007 (one day earlier from the determined schedule). Thus in overall the Project is able to achieve the project execution targets, which consist of quality, cost, schedule, safety and environment. As result of the achievement, Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (Mr. Purnomo Yusgiantoro) has appointed PT PLN (Persero) and Indonesian Geothermal Association to study the project and determined the project as pilot project. Result of the study will be used as basis in determining policy for building other geothermal power plants in Indonesia. The Ministry further explained that the pilot project also has to be carried out in system which having diesel power plant, so that the level of reduction of fuel consumption can be known. If the policy is found to be conducive, then hopefully the number of power plant built in Indonesia will grow quickly so that can contribute in handling crisis of energy and, at the end, will reduce government’s subsidies.

Exerting its efforts to contribute in dealing with national energy crisis is one of Rekind’s real contributions in development of the nation. Congratulations to all Lahendong 2 project team led by Mr. Bambang Budi Harsono and all related line in home office, which consist of Vice President Geothermal team, Vice President Utility Offsite team and Vice President Project Services team, for their success and achievement in executing Lahendong-2 Geothermal Power Plant Project. As further development of Lahendong-2 Geothermal Power Plant Project, Rekind is executing Lahendong-3 Geothermal Power Plant Project, which currently has been entered into engineering stage and constructing Temporary facilities. Lahendong-3 Geothermal Power Plant Project is expected to be completed in February 2009. Hopefully this achievement in building geothermal power plant will be useful and become our good charity. Amen.
