First Piling of PT BRBE's Biodiesel Project
First Piling of PT BRBE’s Biodiesel Project has been carried out on Mei 14, 2007 in Kabil, Batam. The event was attended by:
- Research and Technology Ministry, Mr. Kusmayanto Kadiman,
- representatives of PT Bakrie Sumatra Plantation Tbk (PT BSP), Mr. Ambono Janurianto, sebagai (President Director) and Mr. Soedjai Kartasasmita (President Commissioner),
- representative of PT Bakrie & Brothers Tbk, Mr. Bobby Gafur S. Umar (President Director),
- representative of REKIND, Mr. Triharyo I Soesilo, Mr. Coddy I. Soerono, representing Board of Director and Mr. Ampi Tanudjiwa and Mr. Aryono Setyoprabowo, representing Board of Commissioner, and
- local government officials.
The event was denoted with the activation of siren by Research and Technology Ministry and cutting of ribbon and piling of the Project’s first construction pillar by Mr. Redy Ferianto, as the Project Manager.
The Project is intended to produce biodiesel with the specification and product quality comply with Indonesian Standard, SNI 04-7182-2006 as determined in Keputusan Kepala Badan Standar Nasional Indonesi, Number : 73/ KEP ?BSN/2/2006, dated 22nd February 2006 and European Standard, EN 14212.
Biodiesel is one of vegetable fuel which friendly for the environment, renewable and can be used as alternative solution to replace solar fuel. The utilization of biodiesel in Indonesia is intended to give contribution to reduce the usage of Indonesian foreign monetary exchange for importing fuel and to improve the environment quality.
PT Bakrie Rekin Bio Energy plans to establish biodiesel plant with capacity of 100.000 ton per year in an effort to participate and support government commitment in increasing the utilization of vegetable fuel (biofuel) in the national energy chart. The plant will be established by using Desmet Ballestra technology and used Crude Palm Oil (CPO) as basic material for the plant. The plant is expected to have commercial operation in the forth (4th) quarter of 2008. At the beginning stage, CPO produced by PT BSP will be used as basic material for the plant. Beside CPO, curcas oil or jatropa curcas is also intended to be used as basic material for the Plant. Biodiesel as product of the plant will be commercialized inside the country and export.
