The Handover Ceremony of the Letter of Award for EPC of Glenmore Cane Sugar Mill

Thank Godwe pray gratitude to Allah SWT for His grace in this Holy Month with the plan for the construction of cane sugar mill of PTPN XII marked with the Handover Ceremonyof Letter of Award for the EPC of Glenmore Cane Sugar Mill held on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at the office of the Ministry of SOEs, Jakarta. The documents previously signed by the Managing Director of Rekind, Mr. M. Ali Suharsono, and the Director of PTPN XII, Mr. Singgih Irwan Basri, were handed over in person by the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, Mr. Dahlan Iskan, to Mr. M. Ali Suharsono. Those present and witnessing the ceremony, among others, were the Deputy of Primary Industries, Mr. Muhammad Zamkhani, the Deputy Head of BPPT, Mr. Erzi Agsan Gani, the Director of Glenmore Sugar Industry, Mr. Ade Prasetyo, as well as the Operations Director and Finance Director of Rekind, Ms. Nicke Widyawati and Mr. Hendradi Gunarso, respectively. In his speech, the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises hoped that Rekind as the only National EPC company would be able to complete this project on time.

The plant constructed with the concept of Fully-Integrated Co-Generation Project, which will be built in the Sub-district of Glenmore, Banyuwangi, East Java, consists of a Cane Sugar Mill, an Organic Fertilizer Factory, a Feed Mill and a Power Plant. The capacity of each plant is as follows: 8,000 TCD (tons of cane/day) for the cane sugar mill, 90 tons/day for granular organic fertilizer made ??from filter cakes (a by-product cane sugar mill), 300 tons/day of shoots for animal feed and 6 MW for the power plant fueled by biomass from bagasse. The project, worked out by the consortium of Rekind and PT Weltes Energi Nusantara in the next 24 months, is ultimately expected to realize sugar self-sufficiency.

Subsequent to the handover ceremony of the Letter of Award for Glenmore Cane Sugar Mill, the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises witnessed the signing of the MoU of the Feasibility Study of Gas Power Plant of Lamong Bay Terminal in Surabaya, signed by Mr. M. Ali Suharsono and Mr. Djarwo Surjanto, the President Director of PT Pelindo III. The Feasibility Study covering the study of the financial, commercial, technical and legal aspects is aimed at optimizing Power Resources that would be developed and implemented in Pelindo’s projects. Pelindo III will expand its businesses and increase the capacity of container loading and unloading at the Lamong Bay Multipurpose Terminal of Gresik and build an Automated Container Transport (ACT) in the form of a non-operator monorail train. The construction of the gas power plant is expected to meet the qualifications and specifications of electricity needs of the projects, which will be realized in May 2014 for the first stage and in 2016 for the ultimate development.

Congratulations to the achievements of the Refinery and Petrochemical SBU and the planned cooperation for the gas power plant development with Pelindo III under the coordination of the Unit Portfolio. The synergy across SOEs, fully supported by the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, is a positive step and appreciation for the performance and achievements of Rekind as a National EPC company that will continue to develop itself as a Leader and Pioneer in the EPC industry.
